At the bottom of the advert, which was taken from the magazine “Auto Express”, the magazine is weekly magazine, which has reviews of all the new design of cars that are going to be released in the near future, has a caption stating the special offer which the car is on, how to find your local dealer and the web site address which is where you will be able to find any more information that may be requested by the person interested in any more of the cars available from the Volkswagen company.

The setting for the Honda Civic Type-R is on a computerised background with a small Honda badge in the top right hand corner and in the bottom two corners there are other Honda badges and the Type-R logo in the other corner at the bottom, in between the two logos at the bottom of the advert there is also a caption, which contains general information on Honda and the new car and how to contact the company with enquireries on the car and where to find the nearest Honda dealer to you.

The background of the Honda Civic advert is computer generated, the colour scheme for the advert is black fading into red and then back into black, this could mean that the car is associated with danger and being a mean car and these colours also will catch your attention because it is bright and different from the other car adverts that are about in the magazines now. The car is also contrasted with the background because it is a silver colour, which stands out from the colours of the background.

The slogan that is used in the Honda Civic advert is “Bye Bye, Gti” this could mean that Honda have made a car that will be faster than any of the other Gti’s on the road now like the Peugeot 206 Gti or another meaning of this is that it will out sell the other cars and make the other companies redesign or stop making their existing Gti models that are already in production.

This advert is meant for a family that is looking to buy a new family size sports car, that is a complete new design form the old Honda Civic, but this one has a lot more speed and new gadgets that are now coming as standard the new cars, when people think of Honda they of a reliable car with a good history of reputation. Comparing these two adverts they are similar but they are also very different in their own ways. The ways in which they are similar are they are both advertising a very well known car company and the cars they are trying to sell are already selling well in the British market.

Both of these adverts are colourful which when they are in the magazine they will stand out from the other car adverts, they are also designed to sell certain cars not just the range of cars, with the Volkswagen Polo selling the Match model with air-conditioning as standard and the new Honda Civic Type-R which has just been released after the new type of Civic has been released a few months ago. Both of the adverts have a slogan at the bottom of the advert, which basically states the same information as each other.

The other side of these adverts are they are different with the Polo advert using the Snowman cartoon as the eye catching point of the advert and the slogan that will make you laugh which is linked with both of the pictures that are in the advert. The cartoon pictures in the advert do not actually show all of the car and the picture of the car is not real, so the people looking to buy this car has to go on their memory on what the whole of the car looks like even though the cartoon resembles the actual car that is sold on the road.

This advert is also split into two sections with the pictures. The Honda Civic advert is a real picture of the car, this is because it is a new range so people have not hade the chance to remember what the new car looks like, plus they are going on the new styling of the car. They also use this advert to show how good the car looks and how the car itself will beat off the other competition of the all the Gti ranges.

The angle of which the photo of the Civic is taken shows off the cars stylish looks and the all of the sporty aspect of the car. The caption at the bottom of the advert it shows all of the new aspect of the sports side of the car like the: Race-tuned suspension, 6 Speed Gear box and the price of the car which is less than i?? 16000 which is quite cheap for a sports car like this one.
