Make comments to explain the statements/questions in the first column (max 6 marks) Refer to your pre-test score(s) for any fitness test(s). Before this circuit training plan my times for the 100 and 200 were not that fast and I am hoping to improve my times greatly from these sessions. My P.B’s are in the region of 13.7 and 29.3 as I am not completely sure. Was the programme at the right level for you? I felt maybe the intensity could have been a bit harder but on the whole I found it was a good training session that would work us quite hard when put into practice.

Were the exercises in the correct order? Explain why/why not. Yes we felt they were in the correct order as they gradually went down from 200m to 150m to 100m where we then worked on reaction times with starts over 30m. This is so as the distance decreases we would go from speed endurance to speed. Explain how you applied the principles of progression/overload. I applied the principles of progression and overload by working harder in each session to try and beat my previous times. I will try to repeat the exercises to also get the maximum training.

Were the exercises/activities the correct ones to choose? Explain why/why not. I think they are the correct ones to choose as improved specific areas that needed to be worked on such as speed endurance, speed, and reaction times. Make comments to explain the statements/questions in the first column (max 6 marks) Explain how you applied the principles of progression/overload.  I applied the principles of progression and overload by working harder as each session continued so I was able to improve my times. I felt a general improvement in my fitness, as the sessions continued.

Were the exercises/activities the correct ones to choose? Explain felt that I did make the right decision in doing these exercises as I was building up my speed endurance and speed although I think we should have done the runs in sets like we did the starts in sets. Was the programme easy to manage (set up, do, record progress etc)? We found that our times sometimes varied greatly from the uneven ground and the fact that we timed ourselves while running so it therefore is most likely to be inaccurate. Were the exercises in the correct order? How do you know? Yes we did enjoy it although we found on hot days it was harder and that our times and concentration could be slightly lapse. We felt we worked quite hard as our times were generally in the right

Did you make any changes to your programme? Explain why you did/did not do so. Yes we made changes because in the end one of the coaches was unable to lend me the harnesses to improve our muscular endurance, so we did silly starts to improve our reaction time further. Explain the effects performing had on you in any of the 5 sessions.I improved my reactions from doing lots of starts and timing them timing helped as it spurred me on to react quicker. Also running against two other sprinters that were faster than me meant I was able to push myself really hard to improve my times. Were the results you achieved what you expected? Explain why this was/was not the case.
